“Journey In Mind”, the debut release from the Dan Phillips Trio, showcases a set of original compositions shaped through years of experience in Chicago and New York’s jazz communities.

Featured bassist Krzysztof Pabian plays a central role in the trio’s distinctive sound—contributing arco melodies with cello-like lyricism as well as deep rhythmic foundation. The trio’s improvisational approach moves fluidly in and out of form, balancing structure with spontaneous interaction.

With Pabian’s expressive bass work and Gratteau’s dynamic drumming complementing Phillips’ compositional voice, “Journey In Mind” presents a richly textured and innovative take on contemporary improvisation-driven jazz.
